We are a 42-day drug and alcohol treatment center. Our program is open to everyone who wants to invest themselves into an addiction’s free life.
We here at the BIMRC believe that recovery is a process and through individual treatment planning, adequate duration of programming and supporting individuals will have a greater opportunity for a healthier lifestyle and successful sobriety.
Bonnyville Indian-Metis Rehabilitation Centre
At the BIMRC we focus on a holistic healing approach for all aspects of addiction including alcohol and/or drugs. Our Centre is located on the beautiful banks of Moose Lake and provides a very private, peaceful and serene setting to begin or continue your journey to recovery and living a healthy lifestyle.
For the first week of treatment, you will have orientation and then attend a week-long Pre-Treatment program to help you smoothly transition into regular programing for the next 5 weeks. In Pre-Treatment you will learn such techniques as Tai Chi, Tapping, Yoga, Medication, Reiki and Breathing Exercises all to prepare your body, mind and soul for the next step in your journey.
We have ZERO TOLERANCE for bulling and harassment of any kind. You will be discharged immediately.
BIMRC is not a medical facility, meaning we do not have medical staff or a medical team. We are not equipped to handle constant medical care situations.

The Bonnyville Indian-Metis Rehabilitation Centre (BIMRC) was opened October 4, 1976 by THE HON. W. HELEN HUNLEY, Minister of Social Services and Community Health and W.J. TOTTEN, Alberta Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Commission. We are full License and Accredited Treatment Centre, which allows us to provide comprehensive residential addictions treatment services.
This Certification also ensures that the BIMRC Centre meets the necessary standards and regulations, ensuring the provision of high-quality care and support to individuals seeking addiction treatment.
